Tiffin Motorhomes Tours

Belmont Paint Facility

Tiffin Motorhomes has built a state of the art paint facility in nearby Belmont, Mississippi. New coaches are driven the short distance to the Belmont Plant where they are painted. Each coach is prepped inside a large climate controlled building, then moves through a number of paint booth stations. The paint booths feature state of the art downdraft ventilation and specific booths are designed for specific tasks, such as primer, color coat, and clear coat application. After exiting each booth, masking and unmasking is performed as needed. Finally the various components, such as awnings, are installed and the coach is driven back to Red Bay for final finish and inspection. If any paint defects are discovered the coach is returned to Belmont for touch up or rework.

There is no official plant tour at Belmont, however the guard was gracious enough to allow us access to the facility. While there we viewed the various processes and stages of the paint process and were very impressed with the quality of the finish now being used on Tiffin motorhomes. While there we also were able to inspect a Zephyr, which I've detailed in another review at This Link, as well as talk to the plant manager.

Belmont Employee Entrance

This sign was located at the employee entrance of the Belmont Paint Facility. The Belmont facility is dedicated to producing quality finishes on each and every motorhome that passes through. That commitment is obvious by the effort spent to fit this facility with state of the art paint booths and equipment as well as the commitment to the personnel that make up this facility.

Belmont Lot

After coaches are finished and ready to go they are parked outside the Belmont facility waiting to be returned to Red Bay. It was raining the day we were there so we didn't get many exterior photos.

Masking and Unmasking

In between the various paint booth stations various layers of masking materials are applied and removed as necessary.

Paint Booth

Each paint booth utilizes down-draft ventilation and even lighting to allow proper application of a flawless finish.
